The Tower Bar is located at 4757 University Ave, San Diego CA.
What can you say about the Tower Bar? First off if you like Rock N Roll, 60′s b films, popcorn, cheep drinks, chicks, hot rods, and small dive bars. This is the place for you. There will always be good music playing and some crazy movie playing. The bar is not a scene bar like most of the bars in North Park have become. You will not see bro’s are douche bags there often.
Every night of the week they have dj’s starting with
Mondays with DJ Dirty Bird,
on Tuesday The Clean Cut Djs also known as Ladies night,
Wed DJ Matt The Hopple,
Thursdays With DJ Mikey Ratt also know as Ratts Revenge with a eating contest every Thursday.
Friday is Club Miggs, DJ Miggs and his guest DJ for the night
Saturday is Lurkville with the Strychnines
Sundays are a free bbq at 4:00 followed up by Metal DJ.
Some of the best shows I have ever seen were at the Tower Bar. They really cant have shows anymore because of the law crack down. But they are working on getting shows legal again. Its is a great size for wild punk shows. It holds about 100 people.
Tower is kinda like the Washington Street Skatepark bar of choice. If they are not playing old 60′s movies you will catch some good skate videos like the Anti Hero Video, Bees, Creature, Thrasher Videos, pretty much anything hesh.
This bar is in Ryan Wongs of (Tokyo Electron, Reatards, Earthmen and Strangers and the Wongs) top 5 dive bars of the world. If you are passing through stop in and have drink with the owner Mick he is from Australia but he acts like he is from Lafayette.
Tower is the only bar in San Diego the serves real Absinthe. If you are not drinking that night ask Dan to make you a wizard.
So get off the new Garnet ave. AKA 30th st from Upas to The Office.
Danielle, Dan, Mick are all real good people. So you should support the Tower Bar.
