HALF RATS-FOR THE SAKE OF LOVE 7″ REVIEW!!!!!!!

I just got my copy of the new Half Rat’s 7″ For the Sake of Love out on Douchemaster Records. Let me tell you it is great.  It sounds like something you could of heard back in the 60′s on the radio when the radio played good music.  Side A is For The Sake Of Love.  Which is a great tune with really great catchy hooks. “So come on little girl for the sake of love”. I think if someone didn’t know anything about these guys and heard this 7″ they would totally believe that they were a great band from the 60′s and that they think they have heard them before.

For The Sake Of Love-

Side B The Girl.  Everyone knows a girl like the one they are talking about in this song. Really great harmony in the song. Unlike most current bands playing everyone in the band has a great voice and you can really hear it in this song.  If you are a fan of bands like the Yardbirds, Kinks, Rolling Stones, Pretty Things, Easybeats then I suggested you guys pick this 7″ up. If you get a chance check them out live. You will be impressed.

The Girl-

We are waiting for there full length album to drop it has been 5 yrs in the making. It will be amazing im sure.   For more info on these guys check The Half Rats.  They will be playing on the West Coast July 24th in San Diego at the Johnny Rad Fest.

The great thing about these guys is the there music is timeless. Everyone from your Grandmother to a little kid can like this music.

JOHNNY RAD FEST 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JULY 22ND-25TH!!!!!!!!!!!

The Johnny Rad Fest is a four day rock n’ roll marathon of mayhem and debauchery. The Johnny Rad Fest takes it name from the legendary 1980’s film, In Search of Animal Chin. The name is an ode to Johnny Rad and the Air Jordan’s. Their blowout show at the Blue Tile lounge has never been forgotten, and the Rad Fest aims to relive that glorious “thrash bash”!

This will be the third annual Johnny Rad Fest, bringing to the west coast some of the greatest underground punk, and garage bands of our time. The Rad Fest will have shows during the day at San Diego’s original landmark; The Tower Bar. Evening shows will take place at the Kensington Club Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.

The last two Rad Fest have had write ups in Thrasher Magazine, San Diego City Beat, Countless Blogs and websites.  We are planning for this years to be the biggest and best yet.

Here is some random footage of the J.J. Rad Fest at the Tower Bar Launch Ramp day.  I only filmed for like 10 mins.  It got crazy.  Mike tail droped off the top of the Tower into the launch ramp to take the win.
